Dear Jorge, 11/26/2009
Thank you Jorge for another great practica. Sorry we left without saying good bye, but my friend Eileen was hurting very bad and had to take a pain pill. She and her husband Bill had a great time, yet they were unable to continue so I took them home. Once again thank you for your excellent instruction and inspiration. Jimmy 9/15/2009

I want to wish you happy holidays and thank you for really great tango lessons. You're my favorite tango teacher! I'm really impressed by your passion for tango and also your passion for teaching tango. Hopefully next year I'll be back in Pasadena and can take more classes from you. Very best wishes for 2009. C. I have to believe that it was a greater force that led me to find the flyer advertising the Tango Academy of Pasadena. It said it was the dance with “the power to transform”. Who could resist that?!! I found myself entering into something I new absolutely nothing about… However, from the start I was pleasantly surprised and "constantly challenged". The classes are rich and intense. Our instructor helped us to see that tango is more than steps and figures but rather a reflection of life. Tango has become a blessing for me as well as for my daughter. She became infected by my enthusiasm and the music, soon we were taking the classes together and making plans to visit the Tango Mecca, Buenos Aires, Argentina! We realized quickly that tango was something truly important in our lives. It became the glue that helped to bring my daughter and I closer together. After visiting Buenos Aires I was able to see that tango has also brought many other generations together. It was fascinating to visit the Milongas in Buenos Aires packed to capacity with people of all ages dancing tango! Not only would we see strangers dancing with each other, but mothers with theirs sons and daughters with their grandparents. Buenos Aires was a banquet of beauty and art, a true feast for the soul. I am motivated to continue this journey of exploration. Not only of this fascinating tango culture but also of myself as I continue to be challenged. Has the transformation been achieved? I can say I am a work in progress. Tango for me is a necessity. It brings me back to life and reminds me that life must not only be lived but also shared.
I am endlessly grateful to the Tango Academy of Pasadena for its tireless efforts and dedication in helping their students strive towards completeness as tango men and women. D. A 11/12/2008
Thank you for the tango journey to Buenos Aires. Immersing in the music and the dance was opening an amazing new world for me. Mark. K 08/28/2008
Jorge Luis, I hope you
guys have a wonderful time! I just want you to know that you
changed my life! I know that if I didn't start my tango journey
with you, the whole experience would not have been as profound. 08/11/2008
El Día del Amigo.
I just read about this holiday on
July 20 in Argentina. I think it is a fabulous thing (and it clearly
illustrates the difference in priorities of the culture that I have
been brought up in). I know it is a little late but I wanted to say
that I consider you a friend as well as a teacher, and enjoy and
appreciate the enrichment of life that knowing you over the past
four years has fostered. I celebrate our friendship! S. E 07/23/2008 |
